27.10.07 | "Royal Navy warship seizes 3 tons of cocaine from Venezuelan vessel" reads the title. How about this one: "South American cocaine submerging west Africa: experts" which contains excerpts such as "Spanish authorities have in the past three weeks intercepted nearly seven tonnes on two old Venezuelan fishing vessels headed towards Senegal, the country situated on the westernmost part of the continent."
As a senior Spanish antinarcotics officer said to me the other day "what reaches the media is just a 10% of what we seize." The good thing is that authorities the world over are in the know of the sort of place Venezuela has become under the revolutionary guidance of Hugo Chavez. Move over Colombia...
