Poor road infrastructure blocks access to Caracas
By Aleksander Boyd
London 10.05.06 | There are two access roads that communicate Venezuela's capital of Caracas with the country's main port and airport. One, very narrow and geared to cater for small trucks and little traffic, was constructed many years ago and still stands. The second, more modern one, was completed in the early 50ies but owing to years of negligence and lack of maintenance one of its bridges collapsed. The picture above shows the alternative road that was constructed, in time one must stress, by the Chavez regime.
