Mrs. Ana Julia Jatar is a Venezuelan Economist and Political Analyst.
She has been actively involved in various projects of democracy
advocacy in Venezuela through her participation in some of the leading
NGOs like SUMATE and LIDERAZGO y VISION. Among her extensive
professional experience, she has been Director of various programs at
the Inter-American Dialog in Washington, DC, and has been Fellow of the
Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University.
She has also authored the book The Cuban Way --an original
analysis of the economic policies and trends in socialist Cuba--.
Additionaly, she has been Professor at IESA, Venezuela's leading
business school and was the founder and first Director of the
Venezuelan Anti-Monopoly Agency (PROCOMPETENCIA). Mrs. Jatar is an
Economist holding a PhD degree from The University of Warwick, England.
